Background
Communities that don’t have access to clean water often rely on holes in the ground outside their village– contaminated sources that they share with neighboring communities. Women and childre from all over come to wait in line for hours each day. Bringing clean water to an entire community takes time and teamwork. Access to clean water promotes handwashing.
Washing your hands is the best way to prevent water related diseases. 80% of diseases in developing countries are waterborne and preventable with clean water and improved sanitation. Millions of children spend their days collecting water for their families or home sick with a water-related illness instead of going to school. In light of the above, the project is aimed at addressing the problem of a lack of access to safe clean water in Goma.
The project will provide motorised piped water to the villagers. The project will serve 3000 people by giving access to safe water, reduce on distance fetching water hence time saved for productive activities.
By sponsoring the water project, you’ll bring clean water to an entire community or school.
